September Kleznews

What’s new this month in klezmer? We do our best to keep on top of the latest releases so you don’t have to. Here’s what we’ve found:

Dan Blacksberg – Radiant Others
Fresh from Philly, Dan is one of the scene’s hottest trombone players. He finally achieves his dream of sounding like a clarinetist with a pitch-bend pedal on this new album.
Jason Rosenblatt & Orkestra Severni – Brass Fabulous
Jason plays harmonica like Magnus Carlsen plays chess. Very, very well. With Orkestra Severni, though, he plays piano!
David Orlowsky Trio – Paris-Odessa
I’ll admit, we sometimes forget that David exists on this side of the Atlantic, but he’s one of the premier exponents of the Giora Feidman school of klezmer.
Giora Feidman – Safad
Speaking of which, Feidman is still at it, too. This latest release features Markus Poschner and the Safad Chamber Orchestra.
Secundo Mundo – Furor Ancestral
Have you heard of these folks from Argentina? We hadn’t! But any time Amazon tells us there is a new album with an Odessa Bulgarish on it, we have to take a listen.

Did we forget your awesome new release? Let us know at!
