Happy New Year from Ezekiel’s Wheels! We’ve got a bunch of updates to share with everyone.
Boston Jewish Music Festival
As we begin to solidify our 2013 schedule, we are pleased to announce that we’ll be participating in the Boston Jewish Music Festival this March. Many of you may remember our involvement in last year’s Klezmer Idol competition, and this year’s involvement will most likely prove to be just as fun. We’re playing at the Young Leadership Division volunteers’ dance on Saturday, March 2 starting at 6:30 pm. More information about our set and the rest of the festival can be found on their website, bostonjewishmusicfestival.org.
We’re planning our next big klezmer adventure: a tour of the South this coming April! We are booked to play in Montgomery, AL, and we’re taking a week to travel there and back, stopping along the way for gigs and all sorts of other shenanigans.
Our tour route will be taking us through:
Somewhere in either Tennessee or North Carolina
New York, NY
We’re still in the process of booking shows in many of these cities, so if any of you have contacts in these places who may be interested in hosting or sponsoring a concert, please let us know!
In the coming months, we’ll certainly be sending more specific tour details, and are also planning a big tour kickoff show right here in Boston before we leave. Stay tuned!
New full-length album in April
We are currently in pre-production for our first full-length album. We’re hard at work polishing arrangements of our classic repertoire and finalizing some brand new originals. The plan is to record in February and March, and to have the album publicly available in early April.
In the meantime, please enjoy our first EP which we recorded and released last year!
The Wheels play house concerts!
We played a lovely house concert a couple weeks ago at the Seelen’s residence in Hingham, MA. If you or your friends are interested in hosting a concert in your home (or have other creative performance ideas), please get in touch! We are currently booking our 2013 season and would love to include more events like this: fun and personal!
